Pallet Network

Welch’s Transport is a shareholding member of the Palletline network; the original and leading UK palletised distribution specialist. All goods are handled safely, reliably and cost effectively, with at least 5 scans taking place throughout delivery during our comprehensive quality-control process. The scan data uploads accurate indications of the consignment’s condition at each stage, allowing for early, proactive communication with the sender and receiver.

Today Palletline represents a powerful national body in the haulage and logistics industry, employing over 12,000 people across the network, operating over 6,000 vehicles, with access to over 5 million square feet of warehousing space. The Palletline culture is built around an ethos of partnership for quality and performance. Only the best are selected to join its established network of high quality, financially secure and independent haulage companies.

The network operates six UK hubs and 16 European hubs. The UK is made up of one central hub in Birmingham and five regional hubs; each regional hub handles consignments for delivery in its area, ensuring reduced miles travelled and meeting environmental objectives.

"25 years of innovation and reliable distribution"

It was the first pallet network to take the initiative in providing a safer working environmen for hub personnel, drivers and consignees by the introduction of LIft Assist  And Palletline's excellent Health & Safety record is validated by continually being awarded the Motor Transport Award for "Safety in Operation".

And the Network's Stats (2017) speak for themselves:

How does the network work?

Each member collects freight from its customers and identifies any freight for delivery outside of its local area. Each pallet is then scanned and trunked to one of the hubs. At every hub, each pallet is quality checked, scanned, unloaded and sorted into delivery areas. Each member then collects pallet network freight which is for delivery into their local area - so effectively they simply exchange freight - and the pallets are scanned and quality checked again before leaving the hub. It all happens overnight; simple, yet effective. Freight is then taken back to the local delivery depot, scanned, checked and then sorted into delivery areas, making sure that requests for timed deliveries or specific delivery needs are noted. Deliveries are made, digital proof of deliveries uploaded and you, our customer, can see the delivery information online within moments.
