Established in 1934, Welch’s Transport Ltd is the road haulage business belonging to Welch Group Holdings which is owned and directed by the Welch family.
Welch’s Transport Ltd has a fleet of 100 vehicles, employs circa 150 staff with an annual transport turnover of circa £9m. It is made up by five strategically placed transport depots offering a one-stop-shop for a range of services as detailed in the panel on the left. Its overnight and economy pallet delivery service offers a nationwide solution to a diverse range of industry sectors.
Each of Welch's Transport Ltd depots operates to RHA terms and conditions and is accredited to BS EN ISO9001:2000 which means your goods are protected, insured and cared for.
Office-based personnel regularly engage in out-sourced training in Customer Relationship Management and Management Development Programs in order to improve their skill-set and provide the best possible service to its customers.
All Welch's Transport Ltd drivers are uniformed and are inducted and trained by our own in-house driver trainer to provide the reassurance that comes with professional, high standards.
In order to make it easier for our customers to use Welch’s Transport Ltd, all clients have on-line access to a web-based application which allows the direct entry of consignment data, interrogation of consignment status and on-line POD retrieval. For further efficiency, invoices are e-mailed and payments are collected by BACS transfer.
